The Mullins Report Archieve File: One of the best kept secrets in the City of Tulsa is that it was founded by an African American named Louis Perryman. The Perryman family was part of the first group of Creek Indians forced from their ancestral homes in what are today the states of Alabama, Georgia and Florida to arrive in Oklahoma. Their relocation is referred to as the “trail of tears”.
